SHARECARE UNVEILS PLANS TO GO PUBLIC VIA SPAC
Digital healthcare company Sharecare announced its plans this month to join the public markets through a merger with Falcon Capital Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC. The combined company is expected to be valued at $3.9 billion with approximately $400 million in growth capital on the balance sheet. Sharecare founder Jeff Arnold, who previously founded WebMD, will continue to lead the company as Chairman and CEO. (Read More)

ROOT INC. RAISES $724.4 MILLION IN IPO
Automobile insurance startup Root Inc. (ROOT) sold shares in its initial public offering (IPO) in October at $26 apiece, above its target range, to raise $724.4 million, the company said. Root Inc.’s IPO is bigger than those of other technology-powered insurance providers that had gone public in 2020. (Read More)
